The coastal towers of the defensive system in the province of Salerno are architectures developed over time; they are buildings belonging to an extended strategic plan of the coastal territory useful to defend populations and cities from the ancient enemy attacks. The study deals with a graphic analysis of the city of Agrigento through the identification of the territorial, urban and architectural peculiarities that have designed its evolution. Starting from the landscape representations realized since the sixteenth century, the views from the sea by Spannocchi, the glances on the apric territory by Pancrazi, the Hellenic ruins inside the medieval Girgenti by Martorana and the Grand Tour travelers’ productions, the urban transformations of Agrigento are reconstructed starting from the points of view adopted by the draftsmen. The complex of ‘Abd al-Samid at Natanz, (end of the first decade of the 14th century) includes several buildings: a four-iwan mosque, an octagonal sanctuary, a minaret, and a mosque from the 1930s fronted by a fourteenth-century portal (pīshṭāq). The portal, the only remains of a khanqah, occupies the western end of the southern façade. It takes the form of an iwan, covered in a rich variety of patterns of colourful glazed tile and unglazed carved terracotta. It is adorned by a majestic muqarnas vault of six rows ending at the top with a starry motif. A corpus of drawings attributable to the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, and preserved in the Diocesan archive of Mdina, allows us to better understand the reconstruction of the Cathedral of Malta after the earthquake of 1693, which damaged the medieval building. This had already been interested, a few years earlier, bu some works that had affected the presbytery area. El objetivo de este estudio analiza las interrelaciones entre la música, la proporción áurea y la arquitectura helénica, aplicado al Erecteión. Al establecer las ligazones existentes entre ambas manifestaciones artísticas actualizamos la máxima de Spengler que vinculaba el arte de las matemáticas con la música y las artes plásticas.
